In 1864 Carl Hosch founded a finishing studio which also made chandeliers, in Zákupy, which he moved to Nový Bor in 1868.  Although primarily a maker of crystal chandeliers, he also produced richly cut and painted glassware for export. Carl Hosch died in 1893 and the firm passed to his sons.
